BASESTAR - [bas-star] Cylon. A slow moving, not easily maneuverable deep spacecraft. They are believed to carry over 300 fighters, and have two long range mega-pulsars and over 100 laser turrets.
BATTLESTAR - a deep spacecraft assembled in planetary orbit with a maximum before fueling range of 500 light-yahrens. It is strictly an outer space vehicle.
BIO-PULSE LINES - a system for monitoring fighter pilots bodily functions during flight.
BIO-ROBOTICS - the study and application of creating robots to be like humans in every detail.
BLOOD TRAIL - a hunt to revenge the Borellian code, where they hunt down and kill a prey. See Borellians.

BOOK OF THE WORD - the oldest and most sacred of the books of the Lords of Kobol. It contains lofty moral precepts still followed today, with its central theme being the constant struggle between good and evil.
BOOKS OF THE LORDS OF KOBOL - a semi-mystic chronicle containing the writings of the Lords of Kobol during the Age of the Philosophers during the second millenium.
BORALLUS - [bor-al-as] a rich agro world first settled by humans after the rediscovery of space travel. Now in the hands of the Cylons.
BORATON - [bor-a-ton] a fire fighting material.
BORAYS - [bor-as] intelligent, pre-technological natives of the planet Equellus. They live in herds on the planet Sectara under the leadership of one dominant Boray.
BORELLIANS - [bor-elle-ns] a fierce nomadic people called Nomen, who for thousands of yahrens inhabited a desert area of one of the colonial worlds, whose cruel tribal customs have survived into the interstellar age. They have no respect for society, its laws, or its principles.
BORILLO - [bor-ril-lo] a freighter.
BURITICIANS - [bur-it-i-shuns] the hereditary nobility of the twelve colonies, originally appointed by the Lords of Kobol, to rule over each colony. Over the millenia, many of the original families died out, and new buritician families were founded by great military and political leaders in each colony.
BUZZER - a slang term given to a variety of crude, homemade, intoxicating beverages.
CANARIUS - [ka-nar-ius] a commercial shuttle.
CARBON SYNTHETIC - [kar-bon sin-thet-ic] a material used in place of metal in lasers and other equipment.
CARILLON - [kar-i-lon] a small planet, very rich in tylium. First discovered by humans in 6392. Destroyed in 6550.
CARILLON EXPEDITION - a warrior expedition sent to Carillon in search of tylium. Baltar had put the word out that Carillon's tylium was minimal. However, the expedition found that Carillon was rich with tylium. Baltar had recruited the Ovions, the natives of the planet, to assist him in destroying what was left of the human race in return for plenty of people to eat. Note: The Ovions feed off humans. But because of Adama's intuition and Apollo's ingenuity, Baltar's plan failed. Carillon was destroyed and the fleet managed to secure some of the much needed fuel.
CELESTIAL CHAMBER - [se-les-chal cham-ber] a transparent dome on many spacecraft used for observation and navigation.
CELESTRA - [se-les-tra] an old battleship now used as the fleets electronics ship.
CENTAURIE - [sen-tor-e] 100 centons.
CENTON - [sen-ton] 100 microns.

ELITE CLASS - very exclusive and expensive section of luxury liners.
ENERGISER - [en-er-ji-zer] a power unit of great magnitude.
ENERGON TREATMENT - [ener-jon] the injection of powerful stimulant.
EQUINUS ASTREX- a horse's arse.
FINITE LASER EXTRACTOR - a device for taking images of cells in the body.
FINITE MICRO-LASER - a very minute laser scalpel.
FLANK SPEED - the maximum safe cruisng speed of a spacecraft, varying from ship to ship.

FORCE NITRON FILED - a pipeline that delivers nitrogen in a usable compound directly to the roots of growing plants, along with water and other essential minerals and nutrients.
FORCE SHIELD - an invisible field used for protecting planets.
FREIGHTER - [frat-er] a large ship designed to haul cargo. Now used as living quarters.
FUEL CELLS - metal or plastic enclosures containing fuel.
FUMARELLO - [fum-a-rell-o] a small roll of tobacco wrapped in paper for smoking.
FUMARELLO CASE - a small container that holds fumarellos.
FURLON - [fur-lon] a leave of absence, usually military.

HAND MINE - an explosive device that can be thrown by hand, or set on a timer.
HARMONIC - [har-mon-ik] a recorded message that has travelled through space for a very long time.
HASARIS - [ha-sar-is] an amphibious race first contacted humans in 5225. In 5549, two years after the Cylon invasion, despite a valiant defense by the combined human forces, the Hasaris were enslaved, and then exterminated.

HEDGE HOPPER - a quadruped, native of Sectari.
HEKLA - [hec-la] the mountain on the asteroid Arcta where the Ravishol pulsar was placed. See Ravishol pulsar.
HEMO TYPE - the type of fluid that circulates in the veins, heart and arteries in humans and animals.
HERMAPHRODITE - [herm-a-fro-dit-e] having the traits and attributes of both sexes.

HIGH JACK - the act of illegally seizing a spacecraft for transportation.

IMPACT TORPEDO - a missile with a warhead full of explosive material that explodes on impact.
INFINITY - [in-fin-iti] a ship. As of 6549, set aside to store all human knowledge on compu-tapes and books.
INSTRUCTIONAL PERIOD - a time set aside for the obtaining of knowledge.
INTER-COLONY BUS - the interplanetary transportation system.
IRIS CONE COUNT - an eye test.
JUDGMENT DAY - the mythical day, after death, when we meet our creator.

PHALANX - an attack formation.

PLUTON - [plu-ton] a poisonous substance created by neutron fallout. It causes the molecular breakdown of consumables.
POWER SLED - a tracked vehicle used for planetary transportation.
PRAESIDIUM - [prae-sid-e-um] central governing body of a planet, or group of planets.

RAVISHOL PULSAR - the giant laser cannon on Arcta. It was invented by Ravishol; the noted genius from the physics department of the Tauron Center of Science and the Arts, as a powerful communication device powered by the direct fusion of tritium and deuterium. In 6570, the Cylons captured the asteroid and converted the pulsar into the most powerful weapon of all time. In 6571, Captain Apollo led a band of warriors up the mountain and destroyed it.

RECON PROBE - a mission, usually exploratory in nature, conducted by small, fast, ships such as Vipers.

BORELLIANS - [bor-elle-ns] a fierce nomadic people called Nomen, who for thousands of yahrens inhabited a desert area of one of the colonial worlds, whose cruel tribal customs have survived into the interstellar age. They have no respect for society, its laws, or its principles.
BORILLO - [bor-ril-lo] a freighter.
BURITICIANS - [bur-it-i-shuns] the hereditary nobility of the twelve colonies, originally appointed by the Lords of Kobol, to rule over each colony. Over the millenia, many of the original families died out, and new buritician families were founded by great military and political leaders in each colony.
BUZZER - a slang term given to a variety of crude, homemade, intoxicating beverages.
CANARIUS - [ka-nar-ius] a commercial shuttle.
CARBON SYNTHETIC - [kar-bon sin-thet-ic] a material used in place of metal in lasers and other equipment.
CARILLON - [kar-i-lon] a small planet, very rich in tylium. First discovered by humans in 6392. Destroyed in 6550.
CARILLON EXPEDITION - a warrior expedition sent to Carillon in search of tylium. Baltar had put the word out that Carillon's tylium was minimal. However, the expedition found that Carillon was rich with tylium. Baltar had recruited the Ovions, the natives of the planet, to assist him in destroying what was left of the human race in return for plenty of people to eat. Note: The Ovions feed off humans. But because of Adama's intuition and Apollo's ingenuity, Baltar's plan failed. Carillon was destroyed and the fleet managed to secure some of the much needed fuel.
CELESTIAL CHAMBER - [se-les-chal cham-ber] a transparent dome on many spacecraft used for observation and navigation.
CELESTRA - [se-les-tra] an old battleship now used as the fleets electronics ship.

CORTEX SCAN - [kor-teks] a form of interrogation developed by the Cylons in which the subjects mind is scanned and recorded. It is extremely painful, causes unconciousness, and sometimes death.

PRAESIDIUM - [prae-sid-e-um] central governing body of a planet, or group of planets.
PRECIPTUM LAYER - [pre-cip-tum] any mass of heavy element matter in deep space. It can be the result of natural processes such as the gravitational decay of an asteroid, or the waste product of certain types of primitive star drives.

RAVISHOL PULSAR - the giant laser cannon on Arcta. It was invented by Ravishol; the noted genius from the physics department of the Tauron Center of Science and the Arts, as a powerful communication device powered by the direct fusion of tritium and deuterium. In 6570, the Cylons captured the asteroid and converted the pulsar into the most powerful weapon of all time. In 6571, Captain Apollo led a band of warriors up the mountain and destroyed it.
